Saturday December 7, 2019 MASONICh.I.P.

Scottish Rite “Round Room” – during the annual Breakfast with Santa
4 Queen Street South, Hamilton, ON

8:00am to 11:00am

I am contacting the lodges and brethren of the three Hamilton Districts on two fronts:

(1) If your lodge is already engaged, or considering getting involved, with the Cornerstone Project, one of the requirements is to host, or take part in, a MASONICh.I.P. event. Here is your opportunity to get involved in a MASONICh.I.P. event.

(2) In order for the MASONICh.I.P. event to occur and be successful, volunteers are required to assist at this great event. For the lodges that are not in a position to host your own event, this is an opportunity to join other like-minded brethren and assist at this event.

In order to volunteer, the MASONICh.I.P. program stipulates every “Volunteer” providing assistance or services at such youth events and programs must have a current & valid Criminal Records Check (CRC) – we do not require the "Vulnerable Sector Records Check". The CRC can be obtained from the police service responsible for public safety within the community in which you reside.

If you live in the City of Hamilton area, the Hamilton Police Service offer the CRC services – to apply in person you must attend Central Police Station, 155 King William St. Hamilton, or you may apply online, via: http://www.policesolutions.ca/checks/services/hamilton/

The cost is between $15.00 - $25.00 for a Criminal Records Check for a “Volunteer”.
(for more information, or additional clarification, about the CRC, please contact Bro. Ian Johnson, Hamilton B District Liaison with MASONICh.I.P., via iangjohnson06@gmail.com)

You must bring your approved CRC with you, or proof that you have a current & valid CRC to the MASONICh.I.P. If you have any questions about the joining the volunteer team at the event, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely and fraternally,

Bro. Scott Goheen

UPDATE re the "Ceremony of Dedicating a Lodge Room" on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020

Brethren,
We have just learned that although the “Ceremony of Dedicating a Lodge Room” is conducted in the 2nd Degree, the Grand Master will allow E.A. Masons to re-enter the lodge room (once Grand Lodge has entered) to witness the ceremony. The E.A. Masons will then be asked to leave before the lodge is closed in the 2nd Degree, and welcomed back into lodge for the remainder of the meeting.

Please share this new information with the members of your respective lodge, and E.A. Masons who have expressed an interest in attending this special event. Thank you.
