R.W.Bro. Robert A. Forbes District Deputy Grand Master Hamilton District B 2008 – 2009 R.W. Bro. Robert Forbes was initiated into Enniskillen Lodge No. 185 at York, Ontario on the Grand in March 1982 in the old Enniskillen lodge building. Robert and his brother Tom were initiated the same evening. This was a very proud event for their father to have his two sons initiated into Freemasonry. The initiation was performed by the Dofasco degree team, which is formed from employees and retirees of the company. This was an evening that he will never forget. R.W. Bro. Forbes has been Master of the Lodge three times (1988, 1996 and 2004) and has a strong devotion to the craft. R.W. Bro. Forbes is also a member of Caledonia Chapter and the Scottish Rite. He enjoys the degree work in both Masonic bodies. His Great Grandfather, James Smith was a member of Seymour Lodge in Ancaster and was Master of the Lodge in the late 1800's and first principle of the Chapter in the early 1900's. His Father James was initiated, passed and raised in Enniskillen Lodge and was Master of the lodge in 1985. He is married to his wife Barb, and they have two married children. Connie their eldest Daughter is married to Doug and they have three children, two girls and a boy. Trevor and his wife Meghan are newly weds. Robert retired after working forty years at Dofasco in Hamilton, now known as Arselor Mittal Dofasco, a specialty flat rolled steel company. Barb enjoys her work with a Chartered Accounting firm and plans to work a few more years. R.W. Bro. Forbes is looking forward to his year as District Deputy and asks for the assistance of all the Brethren in the District so that we will have a strong and meaningful Masonic experience and meet all of our goals and initiatives. Goals and Initiatives The District Deputies Goals and initiatives can be achieved with the support of the Brethren of Hamilton Masonic District " B" Our District Benevolent project will be the Nutrition program for the children in the Schools in the Hamilton Masonic District "B" . So many of the children go to school each and have not had breakfast and do not have a lunch. The children are our most precious resource for the future Have a District representative for the Ontario Masonic Ch.I.P. to communicate with Hamilton Districts A. and C to develop a Ch.I.P. program in our District. District open house for all the lodges in Hamilton District " B"on October 29 2008. The Chairman and the committee are looking forward to working closely with each on of the Lodges in our District. Encourage the Masters of the lodges to keep a line of communication open and to support a lodge when they have an E .A . Degree. And send at least three brethren to visit and support the new E.A.P. Mason . Encourage Lodges to make members and visitors feel special as they arrive and depart from lodge. Continue to increase our support for the District Blood Donor Clinics in District "B". Promote our District Website , Hamiltonmasons.com as our source of information. The District "B" news letter be available for each of the Brethren in the district and sent out 2 to 3 times a year. Brethren these Goals and Initiatives are attainable with your support and assistance.
